Kara Vale is a young witch with one very unusual job: collecting rent from monster tenants in the strange little town of Ravenwood. But rent here doesn't always come in cash. Sometimes it's a walking pot, a snoring wallet, a pair of flying heels, or a mysterious black box brought in by a dangerously charming tenant with secrets of his own. With her sharp-tongued judge best friend Lena and Six-O, a nail artist who somehow has six stylish clones, Kara gets pulled deeper into the everyday lives of Ravenwood's monsters. Strange magical objects wake up, tiny creatures find new homes, monster fashion becomes a serious business, and a forgotten midnight street slowly begins to return. What starts as a weird way to pay the bills soon becomes something much bigger. As Kara learns that every strange object and every monster has a place where they truly belong, she begins to build a magical world of her ownโone that might change Ravenwood forever.
